Word of the Day -Fusty

fusty \FUHS-tee\ , adjective:
1. Having a stale smell; moldy; musty.
2. Old-fashioned or out-of-date, as architecture, furnishings, or the like.
3. Stubbornly conservative or old-fashioned; fogyish

Fusty comes from the Old French word fust, meaning a “wine cask.” As wine casks are stuffy and smelly, the adjective is a logical association.

The Sorrows of Gin

Thanks to Sailing Anarchy http://www.sailinganarchy.com I ran across a website, the Sorrow of Gin, that has an amazingly electic collection of pictures of women, cars and booze. Perhaps a little racy, but not really compared to the Fox network on TV, use your own discretion.

The sites introduction: "As our culture continues its decline, we celebrate the decadence of women, cocktails and classic American style."

Home Milk delivery!?

Too bad I'm lactose intolerant, I just might sign up. By the way, that picture on the left is a metropolitian. I learned to drive a stick shift in one of those and over the years I've owned 4 or 5. But, none had a bottle of milk on them!

Agenda 21- What it isn't

Agenda 21-What it is

I have to admit I did not know what Agenda 21 was until I read that the Tea Bagger movement was up in arms about it (see next posting), so I thought I'd see for myself what it is. Here is is.

Check Back Often

On Dec 23 I said that I was going to start posting everyday. Well, I missed the next 2 days, Christmas Eve and Christmas day. But since I posted 6 times on Dec 23 I figure I'm OK since my daily average so far is 2. So, anyway, here I go. Check back often as I hope to have new stuff everyday and keep up my dail average!

politics & guns

Before I leave the topic of physical health and politicans here is our former Governor showing off HIS guns. I can't remember any conservatives making fun of his body

Women with guns

Talking about "chicks with guns"- check this out. Can't remember where I found this pic, but her biceps & triceps seem to be real and not photo-shopped.

Congressman apologizes for criticizing Michelle Obama’s ‘large posterior’

"The Wisconsin lawmaker—who, it must noted, is a bit rotund--sent a personal note to Obama apologizing for his remarks, his spokeswoman Amanda Infield tells Yahoo News. She declined to go into detail about what the note said.

In a statement to reporters, the lawmaker reiterated his apology. "I regret my inappropriate comment, and I have sent a personal note to the First Lady apologizing," he said.

It's not the first time Republicans have mentioned Obama's looks in criticizing her campaign to end childhood obesity. Earlier this year, Rush Limbaugh trashed the initiative, suggesting Obama doesn't physically appear to practice what she preaches."

Apparently Rush has never seen her 'guns'

Reason for the Season? the post I put on FB

From the link-

"Let’s get something straight, we love Jesus. Love His style. Love His message. Love how He loves! When we hear things like ‘Jesus is the Reason for the Season’, our educated self screams at the stupidity! Let us clarify our position. Jesus is a great guy and everything but by no means does he monopolize December. For Christians, December means Christmas and the celebration of the birth of Christ. For Jews, December is the time of the Festival of Lights, or Hanukkah, where they celebrate the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem for 8 days. Muslims sometimes celebrate the Islamic New Year in December depending on the day it falls. Buddhists have Boddhi Day which celebrates the day that the Buddha attained enlightenment. African Americans celebrate Kwanzaa which celebrates universal African American heritage and culture. Pagans have long celebrated Yule and the Winter Solstice around the 21st of the month. So, by saying only Merry Christmas, we are completely ignoring, disenfranchising and disrespecting the faith and priorities of others. Now, that does not sound like Jesus Christ, does it?"

Reason for the Season?

My facebook page has had a small discussion about "the reason for the season". I know I have said this before, but starting today I am going to post something here everyday.
Here is the first, a link to an article about how 10% of protestant churchs are closed this coming Sunday becasue it is Christmas
